The platform silverskills is the product outcome of TSBank Project.

The basic concept of the silverskills platform is to give elderly people the opportunity to use their time and knowledge in an advantageous way to society, enabling them to be more active contributing to their wellbeing and quality of life.

Silverskills allows the elderly to volunteer their skills and time to perform work on a set of areas.
People looking for support can then consult the platform for volunteer elderly that match the sought needs, and the platform puts both parties in contact.
Through responsive web design technologies, it is possible to access the silverskills platform from mobile devices.
The platform can easily be accessed in smartphones, smart TVs and tablets, and target the Android, iOS and Microsoft operating systems with an interface that adapts to the type of device which you are using.
The visitor on silverskills can only access to the information that presents the platform and also the contacts of the support team.
Without an account, you can get the information of what is silverskills and what we can offer to registered users, making a presentation on the objectives, features and advantages for using this amazing platform!
If you want to volunteer or skills or if you are looking for someone to help you in a service of silverskills you need to create a personal account.
It is very easy to create an account, all you need to have is an email account and you are just a few seconds to become part of silverskills!

Yes, if are no longer interested to use silverskills, you can delete your account and all the information and connections to our data and profile ends.
This option will turn off the communication from silverskills to you and you will not be able to look for new services or you will not be enlisted to participate on new services and complete the ongoing ones depended on your account type. To delete your account go to:
My Account – Edit Your Account – Delete Account
Due to any personal or professional reason you need to be absent for a certain period on silverskills, not wanted to be contacted for any service you can lock your account and comeback when you are available again at any time, with no restrictions.
To lock your account go to: My Account – Edit Your Account – Lock the Account
After your account being locked, it will appear Inactive User on your profile warning that you are absent for a certain period.
This applies to all users who take this decision.
The deleting account option is to make when you have made the decision that you no longer want to participate at any activity on silverskills.
The blocking account option is to take only to express your unavailability for a certain period, as you can always return to engage and participate with silverskills community on various services.
Your data can be public or private, it is your decision! The platform silverskills will only be sharing your information if that’s your willing.
If you want to protect your data you can right at the registration (Sign Up) or by accessing your profile (My Account – Edit Account) and leave the option “Show this info” in blank.
In case you want that specific information to become public select this option. The public information will be available for the silverskills community, each user can decide what to share from their information.
Once a service is created, the user can either contact the volunteers or the volunteers can also have the initiative to contact the person who is looking for help.
The chat is incorporated on the page of the specific service, the username with whom you will be able to chat is presented on the left side while the chat window is on the right and the text bar for entering the message below.
In case you receive new messages it will be displayed new notifications alerting who sent you a message with a direct link to the chat.
Yes, it is possible to review your past activities.
For that you only need to be logged in on your account and access your profile and look for your finished services and all your past services will be displayed where you can revive and remember your participation on activities or keep a contact of a user which you engaged before.
The path for the finished services is: My Account - Your Finished Services
When a service is completed, both users involved on the service are invited to vote on each other performance for completing the service.
The rating goes from 1 (Poor) to 5 (Excellent) with a possibility to leave a comment expressing your level of satisfaction.
The rating serves to award the users that performed well and that were easy to cooperate with. The rating of each users will be an average of all the feedbacks received.
The services on silverskills are present at the specific page here. Each service has a summary presenting the category, listing the subcategories to be easier for both type of users to manage and make their decision on accepting the offers.
There are 3 major services in silverskills:
  • Consultancy: The volunteers will be offering their skills on different areas remotely.
  • Pet Sitting: The volunteers will be able to take care of your best friend while you will be travelling.
  • Tourism: Are you traveling to an unknown city or region and want to be guided by an expert guide or a local?
Then this is what you are looking for!
Unfortunately you will not be able to make suggestions for new services. Nevertheless, silverskills are expanding their categories of services.

The services are managed on your profile. By clicking on My Account, after your description and personal information, you have all the information of your services, including:
Services waiting for response (there has not been a match between users on offer and demand for the service), Services Waiting Confirmation, Services Ongoing and Your Finished Services.
For all the services there is a box with 2 areas:
Dark blue: an icon representing the type of service, a message icon with a number for telling the number of unread messages.
Light Blue: the name of the subcategory and a More Info Buttonto go to the service page.
This contacts should be used in case of a technical issue occurs or if you are interested to collaborate with us.
In that way, the support team can be contacted by choosing the Contacts option on the main menu (upper side). You can either choose to contact directly the product owner IncreaseTime by email or phone.
The platform silverskills can be recommended by easily sharing the link on your preferable social network or using the links available in the Contacts page of TSBank (AAL Project associated to this product) and the Facebook page. Share this unique solution on social value creation, don’t be shy!
Yes, we have a reward system presenting the remarkable achievements performed by each user on their service participation during the time since the registration day. The awards will be classified with a specific badge (icon) which will be added to the user profile when achieved. The silverskills awards represented in badges are:
  • Total services completed without differentiation between services, to simplify (5 bronze medal – 10 silver medal – 20 gold medal – 30 bronze cup – 40 silver cup – 50 gold cup – more than 50 more gold cup)
  • Number of completed services (range of 10) medal with a respective icon for representing the service:
    • in Tourism
    • in Pet Sitting
    • in Consultancy
  • Number of feedbacks sent (5 bronze pencil – 10 silver pencil – 20 gold pencil – 30 bronze ink pen – 40 silver ink pen – 50 gold ink pen – more than 50 bronze typewriter and so on)
  • High feedbacks received (range of 10: 10 feedbacks received = 1 thumb up bronze, 20 feedbacks received = 2 bronze thumbs up, 30 feedbacks received = 3 bronze thumbs up, 40 feedbacks received = 1 silver thumb up, 50 feedbacks received = 2 silver thumbs up, etc.)
  • Registered Time in Years (1 heart – 2 hearts – 3 hearts, etc.)

Demand

To register in silverskills, please click the option Sign Up on the main menu upper section on the right side.
Choose the “Share your experience” illustrated by three individuals, and click on the blue button “Sign Up”.
The platform will take you to a page with a registration form, where you are going to be asked to fill your personal information, account and contact details.
In case there is an incomplete field it will display a message on the beginning of the page, listing the missing information by the user.
An email will be sent to confirm your identity.

If you want to create a request you must be registered (FAQ1).

After you are logged in, on the main menu at the right side, next to the notification button, click on Make a new Request.
Three important information are needed to feel regarding your request for a service: when it will take, where it will be the location of the service and what will be the service about.
This information will be important for the system to look for volunteers that will be suitable and preferable to perform your request.

You can get more information on the volunteers on the service page, after creating the request, or accessing the respective page on My Account.

The service page displays the list of volunteers enlisted for your request. With the list on the left side and the chat page on the right side, you must select the volunteers on the left side by clicking on their names.
If you would like to access more information about this particular user, click on More Info button.
A new page will be open with the user profile, displaying the information on the user, including personal information and also on the services completed by him/her.
The services can be manage in the profile page. There are four major status for the service:
  • Services waiting for response - the request was created and the interaction between you and the volunteers can be started at anytime.
  • Services Waiting Confirmation - There has been made a selection from a user, you or the volunteer. Nevertheless, the service only starts if the other user also accepts that same user for a matching.
  • Services Ongoing - The matching had been achieved.
  • Your Finished Services - The services completed. In here is possible to check both ratings, the one you give to the volunteer and also the one you received from him or her.
This status are also managed on the specific services page with the chat. Next to names of the volunteers on each chat, will be an icon expressing the status to each volunteer on a specific service:
  • Waiting for response: When a volunteer accepts your request or you make your selection on a volunteer , this status is identified with a clock until you or the volunteer accepts or denies the matching for the service.
  • Unavailable Volunteer: When a volunteer is no longer available for a service, either by own decision or by your decision, this status is identified with a thumb down.
  • Hand Shake: When you and the volunteer both accepts each other for a service, all the remaining users will be automatically rejected (identified with a thumb down) and the volunteer will have a signal of an hand shake identifying the acceptance on the request

Offer

To register in silverskills, please click the option Sign Up on the main menu upper section on the right side.
Choose the “Share your experience” illustrated by an older age, and click on the green button “Sign Up”.
The platform will take you to a page with a registration form, where you are going to be asked to fill your personal information, account and contact details. In case there is an incomplete field it will display a message on the beginning of the page, listing the missing information by the user.
An email will be sent to confirm your identity.
You can select your preferences on service categories right at the registration by selecting the names of the categories on Skills option. Your choices can be changed as may increase your interests to different areas.
If you would like to change your preference on the service categories please access: My Account – Edit Your Account, and review the information on Skills options at a similar form used for registration.
If you were pre-selected for a service, means that you are enlisted as an option for the user who created that service. You can click on the notification button (bell) and the notifications will be listed.
By clicking on that specific notification of a new service you will be navigated to the service page where you can use the chat to interact with the user and share your availability or question any doubt that you have to offer or deny that offer.
Do not lose the opportunity for a great experience, share your availability and get ready!

You should evaluate if you are interested to perform this service. Once you can make the decision you should Accept or Reject the request by clicking on the respective button on the chat page.
The preferences for the services can be customized (please see FAQ2).
There is no time limit to answer the request to either accept or reject. Nevertheless, if you are interested to perform the activity you should make you decision fast as your probability to perform it can be higher.
Otherwise, if you take too much take to answer, the user might select a different volunteer and you lose the opportunity to participate on an activity of your interest.
